Memorial Day: A Time to Remember

Throughout the year in the United States, we take time to honor the men and women who have served in our armed forces. But Memorial Day carries a unique meaning as we remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

This year, as America approaches the celebration of 250 years of independence this coming Fourth of July, Memorial Day feels especially significant.

If you have ever visited one of the military cemeteries across the country, you understand the humbling feeling that comes with it. At first glance, it may seem like just another cemetery filled with rows of headstones. But as you stand in silence surrounded by grave after grave, the reality quickly sets in these are the resting places of men and women who willingly served knowing the cost could be their own lives.

Their sacrifice helped preserve the freedoms and ideals we often take for granted each day.

This Memorial Day, may we pause to remember, honor, and give thanks to those who served our nation with courage and selflessness.
